All the developments of the world and even the universe have been thanks to analytical thinking. If I say that all progress, all revolutions are sometimes due to the analytical way of thinking of a single person and sometimes a group or a community, I guess nobody has any objection to this. I think many troubles and bottlenecks in society are due to the lack of analytical thinking. For this reason, I think a little bit about what needs to be done to make the analytical way of thinking a habit, to spread it throughout the society and to equip more people with this way of thinking.

Analytical thinking is mistakenly thought to be a feature that should only be found in people who are experts in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, but I think it is a very, very important character trait that should be spread throughout the society.

What is Analytical Thinking?

The general definition that is mentioned in many sources but which I find incomplete; very briefly, in the form of "the ability to solve a problem by dissecting it". In my opinion, this definition is a definition made only for technical people to understand. In my opinion, analytical thinking is the skill of applying the following stages at any moment in life.

1. Curiosity / admitting what you don't know

2. Asking questions / Identifying the problem

3. To be eager to solve the problem

So why do I give this issue so much importance?

I think a lot of uneasiness in society is due to a lack of analytical thinking. For example, communication accidents… Analytical thinkers may be considered emotionless or robotic by some, but you can actually observe that they are better at relationship management than many people.

Analytical thinking does not allow bias because it questions. It doesn't assume because it makes sure. An analytical thinker does not advance what another person is thinking through an assumption, he wonders and learns what he or she thinks, and does this by going and communicating, asking clearly what he thinks, what he feels, as many people actually should.

I think that the traffic problems we experience every day in social life or the chain communication accidents arising from the discussions or misunderstandings arising from the lack of courtesy, the problems experienced in the workplace and even those experienced at home can be reduced by analytical thinking skills. This is why we must continue to work on ways to teach people this skill.
